Jeff Brown's Experience

Founder / Owner at Brown Knows Media

September 2010 - Present | Spring Hill, TN

I founded Brown Knows Media in late 2010 to offer affordable mobile apps for small businesses. Since then, we've added website and presentation design to the mix. We also consult organizations and individuals in developing their social networking implementation strategies, offer training on logistics and execution of those strategies, help with integrating digital technology into daily work/personal life and more.

Operations Director at WAY-FM Media Group, Inc.

January 2005 - June 2013

I helped steer WAYM / Nashville to 4 of its 5 highest cume ratings in its 21 year history. In April 2013, we enjoyed our highest ever weekly cume rating (129K). In September 2012 we saw our 5th highest (111K). In November 2012, we experienced our fourth highest rating (113K), and in April of last year, we saw our second highest ever rating (123K). Additionally, I oversaw the daily operations of the middle Tennessee region of WAY-FM stations including WAYM/Nashville, WAYQ/Clarksville, WAYD/Bowling Green, and WAYW/New Johnsonville, as well as translators in Rome, GA, Montgomery, AL and Cookeville, TN. My day-to-day responsibilities included copy writing, voice over, production, social media marketing, digital and social media strategy implementation and traditional marketing and execution. I also oversaw all marketing aspects of WAY-FM concerts and events including ticketing, outdoor, print, TV and radio. In addition, I implemented and oversaw all on-site promotions and station marketing at all events. I am an accomplished fundraiser, having led nearly 30 pledge drives with an overall average of over 90% of goal. I am also credited with the idea for bringing multiple WAY-FM stations together for unified pledge drives (now known as Super Pledge Drive). I envisioned this as a way for multiple stations to tap into our best communicators while saving station's thousands of dollars in travel and prize expenses. I was promoted four times - to production director in November 2000, to network morning show host in June 2002, to lead announcer in 2003 and finally to program director (later called operations director) in January 2005. I successfully managed as many as 15 employees while at WAY-FM. I humbly served as the Nashville Cluster's 2nd in command for 8 years. I have the distinction of being tapped by WAY-FM president Bob Augsburg to help communicate, in presentation form (below), the company's new 2020 Vision to major donors and ministries worldwide.
